Recipe - Vinegar Pudding
Categories: None, Vinegar Pudding
BATTER
2 cup Flour (allpurpose)
1 teaspoon Ginger or mixed spice
Three fourths cup Sugar
9 ounce Butter
3 teaspoon Jam or marmalade
1 One half teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda
SYRUP
1 One fourth cup Sugar
3 teaspoon Vinegar
1 One fourth cup Boiling water
Do try this, even though the idea of vinegar in pud might sound odd. It's
very good. It was taken from a collection of Round Table recipes submitted
by Table members and tried by a panel of judges before publication.
Mix dry ingredients. Mix jam and melted butter and add to dry ingredients.
Melt sugar in boiling water and add vinegar. Place spoonfuls of mixture
into syrup (in large pyrex dish) and bake at 350F for about 45 minutes.
Serve hot with custard.
