Recipe - Taffy

2 cup Sugar
One half cup Vinegar
3 tablespoon Butter
1 cup Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Cook sugar, water, vinegar and butter without stirring, to hardball stage.
Remove from heat, add vanilla, and pour on buttered platter. Let stand
until cool enough to pull. This may be tinted with food coloring.
