Recipe - Syrup Cake

1 One half cup Sugar
1 cup Cooking oil
1 cup Cane syrup
1 cup Boiling water
2 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Ginger
One half teaspoon Ground cloves
2 One half cup Flour
2 Eggs; beaten
1 cup Nuts; optional
Mix soda in boiling water; add syrup. Mix dry ingredients together; combine
the two mixture; add oil. Add beaten eggs last; nuts optional. An electric
mixer is not necessary. Pour mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
