Recipe - Stone Jar Molasses Cookies

1 cup Light molasses
One half cup Shortening
1 teaspoon Soda
2 One fourth cup Flour
1 Three fourths teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 One half teaspoon Ginger
Heat molasses to boiling point. Remove from heat. Stir in shortening &
soda. Blend remaining ingredients; stir in. Chill dough. Heat oven to
350. Roll dough out very thin on lightly floured board. Cut into
desired shapes. Place on lightly greased sheet. Bake 57 minutes. Do
not overbake.
