Recipe - Steamed Cabbage With Butter

3 pound Green cabbage
4 tablespoon Unsalted butter
( One half Stick)
One half cup Water
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 tablespoon Salt
One half teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
1. Cut the cabbage into quarters. Remove any wilted and discolored outer
leaves and cut out the core from the cabbage pieces. Cut the cabbage into
a large (1inch) dice.
2. Heat the butter and water to simmering in a 4quart pot. Stir in the
cabbage, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cover the pot and cook the cabbage,
stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 25 minutes.
