Recipe - Steamed Apples And Rhubarb

1 pound Fresh rhubarb; cut into
1inch pieces
1 pound Granny smith apples; peeled,
cored; and cut or sliced up 1/4inch
thick
Three fourths cup Sugar
One half teaspoon Grated orange zest
One half teaspoon Ground dried ginger
1/8 teaspoon Ground nutmeg

In a 2quart microwavesafe casserole, combine rhubarb and apples. In a
separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle over
rhubarb and apples. Toss well to coat them evenly. Cover with plastic wrap
(leave a small vent on 1 side so that steam can escape). Microwave on HIGH
for 9 to 12 minutes, until rhubarb and apples are tender. Rotate the dish
One fourth turn every 4 minutes. Let stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Serve warm.
