Recipe - Stamp And Go (Codfish Cakes)

1 Loaf stale bread; crusts
removed
One half pound Sliced American cheese
1 One fourth cup Evaporated milk
1 One fourth cup Water
4 Eggs; beaten
One half teaspoon Dry mustard
2 tablespoon Minced onion
Salt and pepper; to taste
Slice bread in 12 slices. Arrange 6 slices in a large greased baking pan.
Cover with all of the cheese and the rest of the bread. Blend milk, water,
eggs, mustard, onion and seasonings. Pour over bread and let stand at
least 1 hour. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until
puffy and brown.
