Recipe - Skillet Golden Corn Bread

1 cup Yellow cornmeal
Three fourths cup Boiling water
1 tablespoon Shortening; melted
1 teaspoon Sugar
One fourth teaspoon Salt
2 tablespoon Light corn syrup
1 tablespoon Flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
2 tablespoon Milk
1 Egg; beaten lightly
Pour cornmeal into boiling water; add shortening, sugar and salt. Mix well.
Stir in remaining ingredients; combine well. Spread in greased 8 inch
skillet; cover; cook over low heat for 12 minutes. Serves 68.
