Recipe - Savory Beef Short Ribs

3 pound Beef short ribs
2 Med. onions, cut or sliced up
1 tablespoon Packed brown sugar
1 pack Frozen lima beans
1 One half cup Water
2 tablespoon Vinegar & lemon juice
2 teaspoon Salt
One fourth teaspoon Ground ginger
4 Med. carrots, cut in
3 x 1/2" strips
2 Bay leaves
Trim excess fat from ribs. Brown in skillet and drain off excess
grease. Add water, onions, vinegar, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Heat to
boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add frozen beans,
carrots, brown sugar and ginger. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer
until vegetables are tender, abt. 45 minutes. Remove vegetables, make
gravy. Gravy: 1 One half c. beef broth; 3 tbs. flour; 1/3 c. water.
Mix ingredients and cook until smooth and thick.
