Recipe - Saucepan Brownies

1/3 cup Shortening
2 Squares chocolate
One half cup Brown sugar
One half cup White sugar
2 Eggs
2/3 cup Flour
One half teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla
One half cup Chopped almonds (optional)
CHOCOLATE FUDGE FROSTING
PART A
2 Squares unsweetened
chocolate
2 tablespoon Butter
PART B
1 cup Icing sugar
1/3 cup Cream
Few grains salt
PART C
1 teaspoon Vanilla
PART D
1 cup Icing sugar
In saucepan, melt shortening and chocolate. Remove from heat. Add sugar and
eggs and beat by hand until well blended. Add sifted dry ingrediants and
beat by hand until smooth. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Place in greased 8"
square pan and bake 350C 2025 min. Cool (frost) then cut into squares.
Chocolate Fudge Frosting:
Melt together part "A". Add part "B". Beat by hand until smooth. Place over
low heat and stir until the mixtures bubbles at edges, then remove from the
heat. Add part "C". Gradually add part "D".
Beat until smooth after each addition Set in a pan of ice water and stir
occasionally until it is thick enough to spread.
