2 cup Finely sifted crumbs of
toasted sponge cake,
zwieback or graham
crackers, about
2 tablespoon Cocoa, about
1 cup Sifted confectioners sugar
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Finely chopped nutmeats
1 One half tablespoon Honey or syrup, about
One fourth cup Rum or brandy
Place in a bowl ~ 2 cups finely sifted crumbs of toasted sponge cake,
zwieback or graham crackers Add ~ 2 tabs cocoa, 1 cup sifted confectioners
sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt, 1 cup finely chopped nutmeats Combine ~ 1 One half tabs.
honey or syrup, One fourth cup rum or brandy Add the luquid ingredients slowly to
the crumb mixture. Use your hands to tell when the consistency is right,
when the mixture will hold together stop adding liquid. Roll the mixture
into 1 inch balls, roll them in confectioners or gran. sugar. Set drops
asid in a tightly covered tin box at least 12 hours to ripen.
