Recipe - Rum Baba

6 Eggs
Three fourths cup Sugar
2 cup Sifted all purpose. flour
2 tablespoon Baking powder
9 tablespoon Melted butter
Three fourths cup Lukewarm milk
SYRUP
One half cup Water
One half cup Sugar
One half cup White rum or
1 teaspoon Rum extract
Beat eggs with sugar until very light. Add flour and baking powder that
have been sifted together and blend thoroughly. Add butter and milk and
beat vigorously. Pour into pan that has been greased and floured. Bake
3035 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Oven Temp 325 degrees
Syrup: Cook sugar in water until a thin syrup is formed. Remove from heat
and add rum. Unmold the cake and while it is still hot, spoon rum syrup
over it, allowing it to soak in.
