Recipe - Rhineland Sweet-Sour Red Cabbage

4 sl Bacon minced
One fourth cup Brown sugar
2 tablespoon Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Pepper
One half cup Water
One fourth cup Vinegar
1 md Head red cabbage
Shredded
1 small Onion finely chopped
Cook bacon in skillet or slowcooking pot with browning unit. Set bacon
aside. Combine 1 tbs. of bacon drippings in slowcooking pot with sugar,
flour, salt, and pepper. Stir in water and vinegar; add cabbage and onion.
Cover and cook on low 3 to 4 hours. Spoon into serving bowl; sprinkle
cooked bacon on top.
