Recipe - Play Clay

Ingredients:

2 cup Baking soda
1 cup Corn starch
1 One fourth cup Water

1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over medium heat stirring
constantly.

2. When mixture is the consistancy of soft mashed potatoes turn in out onto
a plate and cover with a damp cloth.

3. When clay in cool enough to handle, knead like bread dough until smooth.

4. Add a few drops of food coloring to clay as desired.

5. Roll out clay with a rolling pin to desired thickness, cut with cookie
cutters, around stencils or free hand depending on your project. Make a
hole using a straw if you wish to make hanging ornaments.

6. Allow cut objects to dry overnight or cook in a 350 oven for about 15
minutes or until hardened. Keep checking every 5 minutes to make sure it
doesn;t burn. COOL completely.

7. Paint cutouts with poster paint, water colours, craft paint or markers.

8. Let painted objects dry completely and then coat with liquid plastic,
varnish or clear nail polish.

9. Use white craft glue to repair cracks or add extras to you project such
as sequins, buttons, lace, felt etc.
