Recipe - Pinto Bean Cake

One half cup Margarine
2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
2 cup Refried beans or pinto beans
One half cup Chopped nuts
1 One fourth cup Flour
One half teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Each cinnamon & soda
One half teaspoon Each cloves & allspice
GLAZE
1 cup Brown sugar
One fourth cup Milk
1 Stick margarine
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Cream margarine, eggs & sugar. (If using pinto beans, put them through a
blender). Add beans to creamed mixture alternately with sifted dry
ingredients. Add nuts. Bake in greased & floured 9x13inch pan 1 hour or
until done. Glaze. Glaze: Mix sugar, milk & butter in heavy saucepan. Boil
5 minutes, stir in vanilla. Pour over hot cake.
