Recipe - Picnic Cake

Three fourths cup Butter
2 One fourth cup Sugar
3 Eggs
3 3/8 cup Flour
3 teaspoon Baking powder
Three fourths teaspoon Salt
1 One half cup Milk
2 teaspoon Vanilla
12 Marshmallows
TOPPING
Three fourths cup Chopped walnuts
Three fourths cup Packed brown sugar.
(needs no refrigeration), Oven 350 degrees, pan 9 x 13 buttered and
floured, time 4050 mins.
Cream Three fourths cup butter and 2 One fourth cup sugar. Add 3 eggs, beating after each
addition. Sift together 3 3/8 cup flour 3 tsp baking powder
Three fourths tsp salt. Combine 1 One half cup milk, 2 tsp vanilla. Add the flour
mixture alternately w/ the milk mixture to the butter/sugar/eggs, beating
well after each addition. Pour into prepared pan. Cut 12 marshmallows in
half, and place on top of batter. Sprinkle top of cake w/ mixture of

Three fourths cup chopped walnuts
Three fourths cup packed brown sugar. Dust this mixture off of marshmallows to
prevent burning. Bake as directed above.
