Recipe - Pear Cookies

1 cup Brown sugar
2 Eggs, well beaten
2 One fourth cup Flour
One half teaspoon Mace
One fourth teaspoon Salt
One half cup Sour milk
3 teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Baking soda
1 cup Dried pears
One half cup Shortening

Wash pears, remove cores, and chop. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs
and milk. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder, baking soda,
salt, and mace. Add pears. Mix thoroughly. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto
welloiled baking sheet. Bake in hot oven (410 F) 1215 minutes. 20
