Recipe - Pandowdy

Ingredients:

Three fourths cup Unsalted butter
6 cup Sliced peaches or apples
3 cup Sugar
1 One half cup Allpurpose flour
1 One half teaspoon Baking powder
One half teaspoon Salt
Three fourths teaspoon Cinnamon
1 One half cup Milk
2/3 teaspoon Vanilla extract

In a 9 x 13inch glass dish melt the butter. In a large bowl combine the
fruit and 1One half cups of sugar. In a separate bowl sift together the flour,
baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add the remaining milk, 1One half cups sugar
and vanilla to the dry ingredients, mixing well. Stir the batter into the
butter in the prepared dish. Top with the fruit mixture. Bake in a
preheated 350F oven for 35 minutes. Increase temperature to 400F and bake
until golden around the edges.

Serve warm with cream on top for breakfast, or with an ice cream topping
for a dinner dessert.
