Recipe - Palouse Soup Mix

Ingredients:

2 One half cup Green split peas (16 oz
Pkg)
2 One half cup Lentils (16 ounce pkg)
2 One half cup Pearl barley (16 ounce pkg)
2 cup Macaroni OR (8 ounce pkg )
2 cup Brown rice
One half cup Celery flakes (3/8 oz)
One half cup Parsley flakes (One fourth oz)
One half teaspoon Thyme
One half teaspoon White pepper

Mix all ingredients together. Store in a jar with a tight fitting lid.
Stir before using. To give as a gift. Present these instructions on a nice
card: Combine 1 cup of soup mix with 4 cups of water or seasoned stock in a
large pan. Add 1 cup of cooked chopped meat, if desired. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and cover pan. Simmer gently for 45 to 50 minutes, or
until peas are tender. Add One half teaspoon of salt if desired.
