Recipe - Pain Perdu

Ingredients:

3 lg Eggs
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/3 Up Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Three fourths cup Sugar
8 sl Bread; (up To 10)
1 ds Salt
Cooking Oil

Notes: From Margie's Cajun recipes.

In a bowl, beat eggs, add milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon and vanilla. Mix
well. Put 1 tablespoon oil in a nonstick pan, heat till hot. Dip bread in
egg mixture and coat well on both sides.

Cook in oil over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
Approximately 3 minutes each. Serve Hot!

HINTS!

#1. May be served with syrup or sprinkled with powered sugar. When served
this way, reduce sugar in recipe to One half cup.

#2. For lower fat recipe use skim milk instead of whole milk, and use
cooking spray instead of oil.

Pain Perdu is a great way to use bread that is getting old.
