Recipe - Orange Sugarless Cake

2 One fourth cup Sifted cake flour
2 One fourth teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Salt
One half cup Shortening (that meant
Crisco then)
2 teaspoon Orange rind
1 cup Light corn syrup (usually
Karo)
2 Eggs
One half cup Orange juice or milk
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Cream shortening with orange rind; add
syrup gradually, beating well after each addition. Add One fourth of flour and
beat until smoooth and well blended. Add eggs, one at a time beating well
after each. Add remaining flour alternately with orange juice, beating well
after each addition. For best results, beat cake well at each stage of
mixing. Bake in two greased 8 inch cake pans at 375 degrees for 30 min. or
until it tests done.
