Recipe - Orange Slice Cake

1 cup Butter or margarine
2 cup Sugar
4 Eggs; one at a time
3 One half cup Flour
1 teaspoon Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
2 tablespoon Grated orange rind
8 ounce Dates or white raisins
2 cup Chopped pecans
19 Pieces orange slice candy;
cut or sliced up in half
One half cup Buttermilk
Icing
1 cup Orange juice
2 cup Sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoon Grated orange rind

CAKE: Mix as for any cake. Bake in greased & floured tube pan at 250 for
2One half to 3 hours. ICING: Mix ingredients & beat well to blend. As soon as
cake is removed from oven, pour icing over cake & let cool in pan. Run
knife around edge of cake & turn out when cool.
