Recipe - Orange Shortbread

1 One half Sticks Butter; room
temperature
One half cup Plus
1 tablespoon Sugar
1 cup Flour
2 teaspoon Orange Peel; finely grated
One half cup Cornstarch
Grease and flour 9" square baking pan. Beat butter and the One half cup sugar
with mixer til creamy. Beat in orange peel. Stir in flour and cornstarch
til blended. Spread mixture in prepared pan. Chill 30 min. Heat oven to
350. With sharp knif score dough in 1 1/2x3" bars. Sprinkle with remaining
1 tablespoon sugar. Bake 50 min. or til golden. Cut through scored lines.
Cool in pan on rack.
