2 cup Allpurpose flour
One half teaspoon Baking powder
One half teaspoon Baking soda
One fourth teaspoon Salt
One half cup Butter; softened
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
One half teaspoon Grated orange peel
1 teaspoon Milk; (up to 2)

FOR THE FROSTING
Powdered sugar
1 tablespoon Milk

Decorations: colored sugar, edible silver beads, chocolate jimmies,
sprinkles, etc.

Measure flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, then sift together. In
another bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg, vanilla and grated orange peel until
light and fluffy.

Add beaten mixture to sifted mixture alternately with 12 teaspoons milk.
Mix thoroughly. Chill dough about 1 hour. Roll dough on lightly floured
board to about 1/4inch thick. Cut with Christmasshaped cookie cutters.
Bake 812 minutes at 375 degrees.

To make frosting: Mix powdered sugar with 1 tablespoon milk to desired
consistency to spread on cookies. Frosting can be colored with food
coloring for various cookie shapes. Frosting will harden as it sits. After
cookies are frosted, decorate as desired. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
