Recipe - Oatmeal Fruit Bars (Wash)

Ingredients:

8 ounce Dried prunes
One fourth cup Hot water
3 tablespoon Arrowroot
3 tablespoon Water
4 cup Oldfashioned oats
1 cup Wheat flour
One half cup White flour
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Brown sugar
Three fourths cup Applesauce
1 pound Sun maid dried mixed fruit
1 One half cup Orange juice
2 tablespoon Lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Puree prunes in food processor with hot water. Blend arrowroot with the
water and add to mixture in processor and blend. Set aside One half of this
mixture.

Stir together oats, flours, sugars and applesauce and add to One half of the
prune mixture. Sprinkle One half this mixture into a greased 9 x 13 pan to cover
the bottom. Set the other One half aside.

Chop dried fruit mix in the food processor with the remaining prune
mixture. Place mixture in a saucepan with the orange and lemon juice, heat
just until all liquid is absorbed.

Spread this mixture over the crust. Sprinkle remaining oatmeal mix on top.
Before baking, sprinkle a small amount of oatmeal over the top.

Bake for 40 minutes.
