Recipe - Oatmeal Carmelitas

8 ounce Candy caramels, light
5 tablespoon Light cream
1 cup Allpurpose flour
1 cup Oats quick rolled
One half cup Pecans chopped
One half teaspoon Baking soda
Sugar
Three fourths cup Margarine melted
One fourth teaspoon Salt
6 ounce Pk semisweet chocolate chips
Melt caramels in cream in top of double boiler. Cool slightly. Set aside.
Heat oven to 350^. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Combine flour with remaining ingredients except chocolate chips and pecans.
Press One half of crumbs in bottom of ungreased 11x7inch or 9 inch square pan.
Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and
pecans. Spread carefully with caramel mixture. Bake for 1520 minutes
longer until golden brown. Chill 12 hours. Cut into bars.
