1 cup Oldfashioned oats
1 cup Plain lowfat yogurt
1 cup Mixed minced dried fruits,
such as dates, prunes, figs
and apples
One half cup Chopped toasted hazelnuts or
almonds
2 tablespoon Honey
4 One half teaspoon Fresh lemon juice
Additional yogurt (optional)
Additional honey (optional)
"This Swiss staple known as Birchermuesli can be a healthful breakfast or
snack.
Combine oats, One half cup yogurt, dried fruits, nuts, honey and lemon juice in
medium bowl; stir to blend. Refrigerate at least 1 hour and up to 6 hours.
Stir remaining One half cup yogurt into mixture. Serve, passing additional
yogurt and honey, if desired.
