Recipe - Never Fail Pound Cake

2 Sticks butter or margarine
6 Eggs
3 cup Flour
One fourth teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon Lemon juice
One half cup Crisco shortening
3 cup Sugar
One fourth teaspoon Salt
1 cup Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Grease one large tube pan. Cream together butter & shortening, add eggs one
at a time, beating well. Add sugar a little at a time until all is added.
Sift flour, salt & baking powder & alternate adding mixture & milk to the
creamed mixture until all is added. Add vanilla & lemon juice & beat well.
Turn oven on to 350 & put cake in immediatelyno preheating necessary.
Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes. Remember, ovens varycheck after 1 hour.
