Recipe - Nasi Goreng (Java)

Ingredients:

One half pound Ground beef
2 tablespoon Dry bread crumbs
1 Egg
1 One fourth cup Chopped onions
One half teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Pepper (or more to taste)
One half cup Butter or margarine
1 cup Diced celery
One half pound Cooked crab meat
One half pound Shelled; deveined shrimp
2 cup Chicken broth (or 2 chicken
bouillon cubes in 2 cups
boiling water)
2 cup Cooked rice
1 (up to)
2 tablespoon Curry powder
1 teaspoon Sugar

this javanese dish is excellent for a buffet service from: Miss Mary Alice

Combine beef, bread crumbs, egg, One fourth cup onion, salt and pepper. Form into
small balls. Set aside for One half hour. Melt 2 tablespoons Butter in large
skillet. Add remaining 1 cup onions and celery. Saute until golden. remove
from skillet.

Melt One fourth cup Butter in skillet. add crab meat and shrimp. Saute about 3
minutes. remove from Skillet and add to cooked onion mixture. Brown meat
balls in skillet, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. remove from
heat.

Combine broth, rice, curry powder, sugar and remining 2 tablespoons
margarine in saucepan. Bring to a boil and cover. remove from Heat. Let
stand five minutes. Combine mixtures in large saucepan. Cover and heat
until piping hot. Makes 68 servings.
