5 cup Allpurpose flour
3 teaspoon Doubleacting baking powder
1 One half teaspoon Salt
1 One half cup Sour cream 12 ounces
5 tablespoon Sugar
12 ounce Beer
1 tablespoon Margarine
One half teaspoon Mixed herbs optional
* If using selfrising flour, omit the baking powder and salt. Use a
combination of herbs and spices as you wish. Try some dried basil, oregano,
sage and rosemary.
1. Combine the sifted flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl;
blend well. 2. Pour in the sour cream and beer and mix thoroughly but do
not beat mixture. Grease a 2One half quart baking dish or similar sized pan.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 3. Pour mixture into pan and bake for 4045
minutes. 4. Remove and brush top with 1 tablespoon margarine. Return to
oven and bake 15 minutes longer, or until browned and sounds "hollow" when
tapped.
