Recipe - Molasses Sugar Cookies 2nd Place

Ingredients:

Three fourths cup Shortening; melted
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
One fourth cup Molasses
2 teaspoon Baking soda
2 cup Allpurpose flour
One half teaspoon Cloves
One half teaspoon Ginger
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
One half teaspoon Salt

Melt shortening; allow to cool. Add sugar, egg and molasses to shortening.
Sift flour, soda and spices together. Mix all together and form into 1inch
balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake 6 to 8 minutes in 350degree oven. If taken out of oven when shiny,
cookie will be softer. Leave on pan 1 minute before removing after taking
out of oven.
