Recipe - Mocha Pound Cake

2/3 cup Shortening
2 cup Cake flour; sifted
1 One fourth cup Sugar
1 tablespoon Instant coffee
One half teaspoon Salt
One half teaspoon Cream of tartar
One fourth teaspoon Baking soda
One half cup Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla
3 lg Eggs
2 ounce Baking chocolate;
unsweetened, melted
Cream shortening. Stir in next eight ingredients and then beat for two
minutes. Add eggs and melted chocolate and beat one minute more. Pour into
wellgreased and floured loaf pan and bake in 350 degree F oven for about
one hour. Cool in pan for 10 minutes and then turn out on rack. When cold,
sift confectioners' sugar over top.
