Recipe - Mince Filling (For Pies)

4 cup Diced green tomatoes (about
1 One fourth pounds)
4 cup Peeled minced tart apples
(about 1 One half pounds)
1 cup Raisins
One half cup Honey
One half cup Molasses
One fourth cup Cider vinegar
One half teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
One half teaspoon Salt
(original also called for 2
tablespoons oilomitted)
Combine all ingredients in a 35 quart saucepan and simmer 25 minutes. Put
into sterilized warm pint jars leaving One fourth inch space at the top. Process
in a steam canner or boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
makes 3 pints.
To use: pour 1 pint into an 8 inch baking dish and cover top with pastry.
Bake at 400 for 1215 minutes until brown and serve warm.
