2 pound Beef stew meat; cut into
1" cubes
1 md Onion; cut or sliced up
1 small Garlic clove; chopped fine
One fourth cup Shortening
1 One half cup Water
Three fourths cup Ketchup
2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Sugar, brown
2 teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoon Paprika
One half teaspoon Mustard, dry
One fourth cup Water, cold
2 tablespoon Flour
Cook and stir beef, onion, and garlic in shortening until beef is brown;
drain. Stir in 1 One half cups water, ketchup, Worcestershire, brown sugar,
salt, paprika and mustard. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 2
to 2 One half hours until beef is tender.
Shake One fourth cup water and flour; stir gradually into beef mixture. Heat to
boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir one minute until thickened.
