Recipe - Matties Jam Cake

2 One half cup Brown sugar
4 cup Flour
2 cup Jam
3 teaspoon Cinnamon
2 teaspoon Nutmeg
15 ounce Raisins
Figs and dates as desired
2 cup Sour milk
Three fourths cup Butter
2 teaspoon Baking soda
2 teaspoon Cloves
3 Eggs, lg
1 cup Nutmeats
Mix all ingredients together well except jam. Lastly, gently stir in the
2c jam. Pour into greased and floured 9" round cake pans. Bake in 325
degree oven for 3540 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes
out clean. If desired, serve caramel icing.
