Recipe - Margarets Chocolate Pie

1 Baked pie shell
Three fourths cup Sugar
1/3 cup Flour
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1 One half Squares Baker's chocolate;
cut fine
3 Egg yolks
2 cup Milk
1 tablespoon Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla
TOPPING
3 EGG WHITES PLUS:
3 tablespoon sugar
or
Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings
Blend sugar, flour and salt. Add chocolate, yolks and milk; cook in double
boiler until filling thickens and chocolate has melted. It will take about
20 minutes. Stir frequently. Add butter and vanilla; stir. Pour into pie
shell.
To make topping: Stiffly beat egg whites and beat in sugar gradually.
Spread on top of pie and brown in oven.
OR whip cream and spread over top of pie; garnish with chocolate shavings.
