Recipe - Marbled Cream Cheese Brownies

2 cup Quick bread mix
Three fourths cup Milk
2 tablespoon Shortening
One half teaspoon Ground cinnamon
One fourth teaspoon Ground cloves; packed
One fourth teaspoon Ground cinnamon
One fourth cup Sugar
1 Egg; beaten
2 tablespoon Molasses
One half teaspoon Ground nutmeg
One fourth cup Brown sugar; firmly
2 tablespoon Quick bread mix
1 tablespoon Butter or margarine
Combine quick bread mix and sugar in mixing bowl; add milk, egg, and
shortening, and beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until smooth.
Remove 1 cup batter; combine with molassas, One half teaspoon of cinnamon,
nutmeg, and cloves. Place spoonfuls of plain batter into a greased 8inch
square baking pan in a checkerboard pattern. Spoon spiced batter in spaces
around plain batter, gently swirl with a knife. Combine brown sugar, 2
Tablespoons Quick Bread Mix, and One fourth teaspoon cinnamon in a small bowl. Cut
in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coars meal.
Sprinkle mixture over batter. Bake at 375 F. for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve
warm. Yield: 9 servings
