Recipe - Maple Pear Crunch

1/3 cup Maple syrup
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
4 lg Firm ripe pears; cored and
thinly cut or sliced up
One half cup All purpose flour
3 tablespoon Yellow cornmeal
3 tablespoon Brown sugar; packed
1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon Salt
3 tablespoon Unsalted butter; chilled and
cut into small pieces
Prep: 15 min, Cook: 45 min.
Preheat oven to 375øF. Combine maple syrup and lemon juice in a heavy
nonreactive saucepan. Cook over low heat 5 minutes or until very hot.
Remove from heat. Stir in pear slices and transfer to a buttered baking
dish. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients, except butter, in a food
processor or bowl. Cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture resembles
coarse meal. Sprinkle topping over pears and bake 40 minutes or until
bubbly and golden.
