Recipe - Light Brownies

Ingredients:
Light Brownies recipe makes 6 Servings
1/3 cup Butter, or replace with:
1/3 cup Shortening mixed with
1 tablespoon Hot water
1 cup Brown sugar
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 cup Flour
One half teaspoon Baking powder
1/8 teaspoon Baking soda
4 ounce Semisweet chocolate chips
One half teaspoon Salt
One half cup Chopped nuts, optional
Melt butter (or shortening with water) in sauce pan over medium heat.
Remove from heat, add to brown sugar and mix well. Allow mixture to cool.
Stir in egg and vanilla. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix well. Pour
mixture into greased baking pan (8x8 or 11x7).
Bake at 350 deg. F for 20 to 25 minutes.
