Recipe - Kalua-Style Ham

Categories: None, Kalua-Style Ham
Ingredients:

16 pound Smoked ham; (up to 20)
12 lg Ti leaves; (up to 15)
2 lg Sheets heavy foil

Notes: From Hawaiian Electric Kitchen.

Trim skin and fat from ham, if desired. Wash ti leaves; remove stems and
fibrous part of the veins. Place sheets of foil crosswise in a large baking
pan. Put ti leaves on foil with leaves radiating from the center and
extending about 10 inches out of the pan. Place ham on leaves. Bring leaves
and foil up and around ham. Seal foil tightly around ham. Bake in electric
oven at 350°F for 8 hours. Shred ham before serving. Makes about 24
servings.

To cook in a slow cooker: Cut ham to fit pot. Omitting ti leaves, place ham
in crock pot. Start on "high" for 5 hours; reduce to "low" and cook for
about 2 hours, or until ham easily shreds.
