Recipe - Italian Spaghetti Wmeat Sauce

1 One half tablespoon Butter
1 md Onion; chopped
1 Clove garlic; minced
1 pound Hamburger
1 One fourth teaspoon Salt
1 cn (#21/2) tomatoes
1 cup Water
1/3 cup Tomato paste or catsup
Three fourths pound Spaghetti
One fourth pound Parmesan cheese
Heat butter in heavy skillet. Add onion & garlic & brown lightly. Add
hamburger & stir constantly to keep well separated while browning lightly.
Then add salt & tomatoes which have been rubbed through a sieve, & water.
Cover & simmer 3040 minutes. About 5 minutes before serving, add tomato
paste & stir until well blended. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti in 4 quarts of
boiling, salted water (4 tsp salt), dipping ends into boiling water &
pushing rest in as ends become softened. Cook until tender, about 20
minutes; drain & rinse with hot water & drain again. Heap onto hot platter,
pour meat sauce over spaghetti & sprinkle grated cheese on top. Serves 5.
