1 One half pound Ground beef
One half teaspoon Cumin seeds
1 lg Onion finely chopped
One half teaspoon Ground coriander
1 One half cup Tomato juice
One half teaspoon Garam masala*
1 cup Peas thawed
One half teaspoon Cayenne pepper
1 One half teaspoon Salt
Freshly cooked rice
One half teaspoon Ground cumin
Cook beef and onion in heavy large skillet over medium heat until met is no
longer pink, crumbling with fork, about 10 minutes. Add all remaining
ingredients, except rice. Cover and cook 15 minutes. Serve with rice. GARAM
MASALA An Indian spice mixture available at Indian or specialty markets.
To substitute, mix Three fourths ts. ground cumin with Three fourths ts. ground coriander, 1/2
ts. pepper, One half ts. ground cardamon, One fourth ts. ground cloves, and One fourth ts.
ground cinnamon. Use One half ts. of spice mixture for this recipe. SOURCE:
