Recipe - Honey Pear Upside Down Cake

TOPPING
1 Pear (such as Bartlett or
Anjou); peeled, thinly
cut or sliced up
1 tablespoon Flour
2 teaspoon Grated orange peel
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
One half cup Honey
CAKE
1 cup Allpurpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Baking soda
One fourth teaspoon Salt
One half cup Honey
1 Egg
2 tablespoon Butter or parave margarine;
melted
2 tablespoon Fresh orange juice
Arrange pear slices in bottom of a greased 9inch pie pan. Sprinkle with
flour, orange peel and cinnamon; drizzle evenly with honey.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; mix
well. In a small bowl, combine honey, egg, butter and orange juice; mix
well. Add to flour mixture, stirring until just blended. Spread mixture
evenly over pears. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes or until
browned.
Let cool 5 minutes on wire rack; invert onto platter. Serve warm.
Note: For kosher kitchen, always use certified kosher products. Suitable
for Rosh Hashanah.
