Recipe - Honey-Ginger-Chili Chicken

3 tablespoon Shortening
3 tablespoon Butter or margarine
1/3 cup Allpurpose flour
Three fourths teaspoon Salt
One half teaspoon Ground ginger
One fourth teaspoon Pepper
3 pound Chicken
1/3 cup Honey
1/3 cup Chili sauce
1/3 cup Soy sauce
One half teaspoon Ground ginger
Heat oven to 425F. Heat shortening and butter in baking pan, 13x9x2 inches,
in oven until melted. Mix flour, salt, One half teaspoon ginger and the pepper.
Coat chicken pieces thoroughly with flour mixture. Place chicken skin sides
down in pan. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Turn chicken; bake 15 minutes.
Remove chicken. Drain fat; line pan with aluminum foil. Return chicken to
pan. Mix honey, chili sauce and One half teaspoon ginger; pour on chicken. Bake
15 minutes, spooning honey mixture onto chicken every five minutes. serve
immediately or refrigerate and serve chilled. 6 servings.
The first time I tryed this I used worcestershire sauce instead of soy
sauce and it worked great.
