Recipe - Homemade House Dressing

Categories: Cyberealm, Dressings, Homemade House Dressing
Ingredients:

5 cup Rolled (not instant) oats
1 cup Raw wheat germ; (available
at naturalfood stores)
One half cup Sunflower seeds
1 cup Honey or brown sugar
2 cup Coarsely chopped pecans
1 cup Powdered milk;
(1 3.2ounce envelope)
One half cup Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Vegetable oil
One fourth cup Water
1 cup Dried apricots; coarsely cho
1 cup Dried apples; coarsely chopp
1 cup Dried prunes or dates;
pitted and chopped
1 cup Dark raisins

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Combine all, or as many of these
ingredients as you can put together, in a huge bowl. You will probably have
use your hands to turn the mixture over until it is thoroughly combined.
Divide between 2 jellyroll pans and toast in the preheated oven for 1
hour. Stir the ingredients well every 15 minutes, turning them over to be
sure that nothing burns on the bottom. Remove the pans from the oven and
allow the mixture to stand for about 1 hour until it has cooled completely.
Pack into apothecary jars, oldfashioned candy jars, or other airtight
containers. It keeps indefinitelyor at least 8 weeks, which is quite a
long time. Makes about 16 cups. Source: "An Edible Christmas" Cookbook by
