Recipe - Homemade Biscuit Mix

8 cup Flour
One fourth cup Baking powder
2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Lard
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cut lard into flour with a
pastry blender until the mixture has a fine, even crumb. Cover and store in
refrigerator until ready to use. This mixture will keep for at least a
month. Makes 10 cups of biscuit mix.
TO MAKE BISCUITS:
Add One half cup milk to 2 cups Homemade Biscuit Mix and toss until combined.
Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 20 seconds.
Pat or roll to One half inch thickness and cut with a mediumsized (2 inch)
biscuit cutter. Bake in a preheated 450 F oven for 1215 minutes, until
golden. Serve hot. Makes 1012 biscuits.
