Recipe - Holiday Sausage Dressing

1 pound Sausage; sage, mild, or hot
One half cup Butter or margarine
1 Onion; chopped
2 Celery; chopped
2 One half cup Corn bread; crumbled
2 One half cup Herb seasoned stuffing mix
OR:
2 One half cup Bread crumbs
1 tablespoon Poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon Salt
One fourth teaspoon Black pepper
1 cn Chicken or turkey broth; (14
One half oz)
Heat oven to 350F. In med. skillet, brown sausage, drain. Set aside. In
same skillet, melt butter. Add onion and celery, cook until tender. Set
aside.
In large bowl, combine cornbread, stuffing mix, poultry seasoning, salt and
pepper. Stir in chicken broth, sausage, onion and celery mixture; mix well.
Place in ungreased 22 One half quart casserole.
Bake uncovered at 350F for 3035 min. or until top begins to brown.
Tip: Dressing can be used to stuff a 1420 pound turkey. Stuff turkey cavity
lightly. Do not overstuff. Follow guidelines on turkey pkg. for roasting
times based on turkey weight.
