Recipe - Herman Double-Chocolate Brownies

Three fourths cup Butter; room temperature
1 cup Sugar, white
1 cup Sugar, brown
4 Eggs
One half cup Cocoa, unsweetened
1 One half cup Flour
One half teaspoon Salt
One half cup Herman Sourdough Starter
1 tablespoon Vanilla
Three fourths cup Semisweet chocolate pieces
One half cup Nuts; chopped
In bowl of electric mixer, cream butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a
time, beating well after each. Stir dry ingredients together. Combine
starter and vanilla; add alternately with dry ingredients to sugar
mixture. Spread in greased 11 One half x 7 One half x 1 1/2" pan. Sprinkle
chocolate and nuts on top. Bake in preheated 350F oven 30 min.
