Recipe - Grantham Ginger Biscuits (Cookies)

1 cup Sugar and
1 Stick butter, creamed
together
1 One half cup Four
One fourth teaspoon Baking soda
One half teaspoon Baking powder
One fourth teaspoon Ginger
One half Egg (hint: beat, then
measure) (a whole egg is
too much)

Many years ago, my boss would bake these and the buttermilk pie and bring
them to work. She's in her 90's now. I have fond memories of both.

Make into small balls or drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake
