Recipe - Granola Bars5

Categories: Breakfast, Bars, Granola Bars5
Ingredients:

4 cup Quick cooking oats
1 cup Coarsely chopped nuts
(walnuts; almonds, unsalted
dry roasted peanuts)
1 cup Raisins or chopped dates
2 Egg whites; beaten until
stiff
1 cup Unsweetened dehydrated
banana chips; crushed
coarsely
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
One half cup Margarine
One half cup Honey

Toss together oats, nuts, raisins or dates and bananas. Sprinkle with
cinnamon; toss again. Melt margarine and honey together; toss with dry
ingredients. Fold egg whites into mixture and press into a well greased 9 x
13inch pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven; press
mixture down with a spatula. Cool slightly, then cut into bars. May be
wrapped individually in plastic wrap and stored in airtight container or
may be frozen. These bars were recommended for those on saltfree diet. Do
not cut too soon. Cut with sharp knife and sawing motion.
